Are your timber floors longing for a fresh lease of life? Look no further than Ipswich Floor Sanding & Polishing. With a focus on excellence, we offer expert polishing services that will bring out the inherent beauty of your floors.

Timber Floor Polishing

Floor Polishing – the process of giving a properly sanded timber floor protection and a new sheen by applying polish over the top.

The choice of finish on your floor will determine the type of sheen your timber floorboards will have, the future maintenance needed and whether your timber floor has a high or low wear density.

Solvent Based Polyurethane

Solvent based polyurethane has greater abrasion resistance and delivers a harder floor finish which generally needs less routine maintenance. Available in Gloss, semi-gloss, satin, lo sheen or matt finishes. Our preferred choice of quality Solvent Based Polyurethane is Polycure.

Water Based Polyurethane

Water Based polyurethane has good wear and tear resistance and is less likely to change colour over the years. Available in Matt and Satin finishes. Our preferred choice of quality Water Based Polyurethane is Loba or Bona.

Tung Oil/Organ Oil

Tung oil and organ oils provide a natural matt finish but required regular maintenance and coating as it wears off more quickly. This product is rarely used in today’s market due to the constant upkeep required and the moving of furniture to do so.

Decking Oils

Deck oils play an important role in preserving an outside timber deck from the elements of the weather in particular the sun and add natural beauty to the timber at the same time. Our preferred choice of quality deck oil is Sikkens.

Step Tread Finishes

It is worth mentioning that it is a requirement for any timber step treads being polished, requiring to be certified by a Certifier, that a non-slip polyurethane is used on the final coat. This non-slip product is available in Solvent and Water Based polyurethane and is not coarse underfoot, just non slip. John can provide a Form 43 for certification for a building project overlooked by a Certifier.
